ABQ Journal: NBC’s “Night Shift” Returns for Third Season at ABQ Studios
‘Night Shift’ returns for filming in Duke City

Three years and “The Night Shift” is going strong.
The NBC drama will begin principal photography this month and film through June in Albuquerque.
According to the New Mexico Film Office, the production will employ approximately 130 New Mexico crew members and approximately 500 New Mexico background talent per episode.
“Sony Pictures Television has been an important part of our record breaking year in the New Mexico Film and TV Industry. Increased television work has been one of our goals given the long term jobs and economic impact it provides,” said New Mexico Film Office Director Nick Maniatis. “To have ‘The Night Shift’ return for a third season is exactly what we want and we are very happy to have them back.”
“The Night Shift” follows the lives of doctors and staff members who work the overnight shift at the emergency room in San Antonio Memorial Hospital.
Production takes place at Albuquerque Studios.
In May 2014, “The Night Shift” debuted with 7.7 million viewers and ended with a 6.6 million average. Last season, the episode count was upped to 14 from eight and the season averaged about 5.5 million viewers.
The series is created and executive produced by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah. It stars Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, Ken Leung, Brendan Fehr, Robert Bailey Jr., Jenanne Goossen, JR Lemon and Freddy Rodriguez.
